The proctor program is one of several opportunities at King's that provide students in their junior and senior years a chance to practice leadership skills. Students apply to be and are selected as proctors because of the high standards they set for themselves, the care and respect they show others and the positive attitude they display towards residential life and King's Academy.
The proctor program provides a link between students and faculty within the dorms, strives to welcome new members of the student body and works to ensure the well-being of student members in this residential community. Proctors are residential leaders who are trained and selected in the spring of each year. Several proctors live in each house and as leaders in the house they set the standard for fairness and objectivity and recognize the need to intervene and seek guidance in times of crisis. Their goal is to make student life at King's welcome, comfortable, safe and enjoyable by setting positive examples for all who live and work in the house.
During the year, proctors go through continuous leadership training and are provided with ample opportunities to expand their roles within the community. The proctors are chosen every year in the spring term through an application process.
