Travel and Transportation

As per the recommendation of local epidemiology officials, bus capacity will be reduced during our period of social distancing. Available seats will be clearly marked to ensure that students are appropriately spaced.

Further, we are implementing small changes within the schedule in order to allow two shifts of bus trips to campus on Saturdays and Thursdays, thereby allowing students to arrive and depart earlier and later on alternating weeks.

King’s Academy will have two departure times from campus on Thursday afternoons and two departures times from the three main stations (passing by Al Manaseer Station) on Saturday evenings at the below times. Students will be placed into two groups based on their last name. These groups will rotate each week. We strongly encourage you to pick up your children on Thursday afternoon to support us.

Thursday afternoon: Departing King’s (King Hussein, GAR, Abdoun and passing through Al Manaseer) 

• 15:30: First group
• 18:30: Second group 

Buses to Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa will depart at 15:30.
 
Saturday evening: Departing from the three main stations (King Hussein, GAR, Abdoun and passing through Al Manaseer) 

• 17:00: First group
• 19:00: Second group 

Note: Students should arrive at their morning station no later than 7:15 on a daily basis.

Buses will be cleaned and disinfected after every trip, drivers will be screened on a daily basis, and all drivers and passengers on our buses will wear masks while on the bus.

All students will be screened before boarding a bus. Negative screening results will necessary to board. Students with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 as listed by the CDC will require a negative PCR test before boarding again.

There will be three pick-up and drop-off bus stations on a daily basis: Abdoun, Greater Amman, and King Hussein Mosque (passing by Al Manaseer station/Airport Road). 

Students who arrive in individual cars will be screened at the drop-off point. It is recommended that students drive to campus with only one other person in the car (except siblings who attend King's), and when on campus, all passengers will be required to wear masks. Passengers other than the student(s) being dropped off will be asked to remain in the car during the drop-off time.
