King’s Academy, April 27, 2017 - Earlier this month, Arab Bank hosted a dinner reception for King’s Academy in Dubai, with over 40 Jordanian and Palestinian businessmen residing in the United Arab Emirates in attendance. Chairman of the Board of Arab Bank Mr. Sabih Masri, who is also a member of the school’s board of trustees, presided over the event alongside King’s Academy Chairman of the Board HE Bassem Al-Salem.
In his welcoming remarks, Al Salem introduced King’s mission and vision and briefed attendees on the school’s unprecedented financial aid program.
“King’s Academy has a pioneering and unparalleled commitment to educational opportunity with 42 percent of its students receiving a transformative education right now because of the ongoing generosity of donors,” said Al Salem.
Al Salem also remarked on the milestones achieved by the school to date, as it marks its 10th anniversary with a number of celebratory events scheduled to take place later in the year.
“Today, as we prepare to celebrate 10 years of incredible success at King’s Academy this fall, we are looking ahead to the next decade with excitement and anticipation,” he said.
During the reception, a video featuring the founder of King’s Academy – His Majesty King Abdullah II – was presented. In it His Majesty explained why education is increasingly important in this day and age, and why a school such as King’s Academy is vital for the region, in addition to how the school is helping to empower promising young leaders to drive change within and beyond their communities.
“King’s Academy is proud to offer a world-class education for all talented and deserving future leaders even when their families do not have the means to afford tuition," said King's Academy Chief Development Officer Rima Zaitoon.
