King’s Academy, August 18, 2016 – King’s Academy recently elected two new members to join its board of trustees: Executive Vice Chairman of Hikma Pharmaceuticals Mr. Mazen Darwazah and Board Member of Darat al Funun – The Khalid Shoman Foundation Ms. Aysha Shoman, bringing the board’s size to 13 members.
Darwazah is also president and chief executive officer of Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Emerging Markets for Hikma Pharmaceuticals. In addition, he has served as president of the Jordanian Association of Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Appliances (JAPM). Darwazah holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the American University in Beirut and has completed the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from INSEAD, the world's leading graduate business school.
Shoman is a member of the board of Darat al Funun - The Khalid Shoman Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts and preserving Jordan's architectural and archaeological heritage. She is also engaged in philanthropy, particularly in the fields of education and health. Shoman holds a Bachelor's degree in international relations and archaeology from Brown University and a Master's degree in social enterprise and community development from the University of Cambridge.
