Jordan’s Youth Musicians Conference (JYMC)

King’s Academy, February 2, 2016 — Some of Jordan’s finest young musicians teamed up with the King’s Academy orchestra and Glee Club last night to participate in the fourth annual Jordan’s Youth Musicians Conference (JYMC).

Aimed at raising artistic awareness across the kingdom, the event took place in the Abdul Majeed Shoman Auditorium in front of a large crowd of teachers, family and friends from King’s and the Baptist School who came out to show their support.

True to form was this year’s witty concert theme – “Sometimes You Have to Take a Stand” – and participants did just that through an exciting program* that included numbers by Tchaikovsky and Adele.

*Program:

Glee Club: “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” from The Lion King, “Ya Saher al Aynayn” by Rahabani brothers, “Hello” by Adele

Orchestra: “Cumberland Cross” by Carl Strommen, “Into the Storm” by Robert W. Smith, “Ging heut Morgen ubers Feld” by Gustav Mahler, “Symphony No. 5” by P. Tchaikovsky
