King’s Academy, November 10, 2015 — Aspiring filmmakers at King’s Academy were treated to a special screening of the short film 6 Cups Chai yesterday evening in the Gallery, followed by an enlightening Q&A session with the film’s director Laila Khan.
Khan, who worked as a production assistant on the set of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban before launching Brainworks Picture Company, discussed topics relating to the film, including child labor and the importance of education as “a basic human right.” She also provided tips on how to create a short movie using a smart phone.
“As a filmmaker I’m doing my bit to create awareness about such issues and get people talking about it,” Khan said. “I hope that through this film, I can help inspire change. Each one of us here can make a difference.”
