King’s Academy, February 12, 2015 — This January brought exciting news for the King’s Academy Parent Council as Headmaster John Austin announced the acceptance of HRH Princess Ghida Talal as the chairperson of this special group.
Through the Parent Council, King’s Academy invites parents to become more active participants in their children’s education and in supporting the future of the school. As a young institution, King’s Academy depends on the time, effort and resources of parent volunteers – all of which have a substantial impact on the day-to-day life of students.
“With three children enrolled at King’s Academy as of this coming fall, I know I may speak for Princess Ghida in her enthusiasm for the school, its programs and its future successes,” Dr. Austin announced to the group, “We are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parents engaged in our Parent Council at King’s Academy. We are thrilled to see it continue to grow, with extraordinary members and now an official Chair – completing the structure of this critical group we set out to establish two years ago.”
The Parent Council has already made great accomplishments during the 2014-2015 school year – including bake sales for Gaza and King’s Academy financial aid, contributing special dishes for the Round Square International Dinner and the Fall Festival, and developing new and exciting strategies for strengthening the King’s Academy parent community.
As Princess Ghida perfectly expressed to the Parent Council, “I look forward to working with all of you, and to reaching new milestones together for King’s and its entire community. After all, each and every one of us has at King’s our most precious, most beloved resource… our children!”
