Two King’s sophomores help raise close to 5,000 JD to fight cancer

Mohamad El-Dada ’17 and Mohammad Samman ’17 spent their weekend raising cancer awareness and reminding young cancer patients to “keep hope alive” during a fundraising event they helped organize at the King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) on Friday. The open day, which featured music, games and live entertainment, raised close to 5,000 JD for the King Hussein Cancer Center and Foundation.

The boys joined forces after Dada came across a touching photo of a cancer patient that recently went viral on Facebook.

“You don’t have to be in your twenties to organize such events,” said Samman. “You have to have the will and consistency to advertise and cooperate with sponsors in order to make it work and promote a good cause.”
