Students raise funds and awareness of breast cancer

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the King’s Academy Round Square Student Committee launched a campaign to help raise awareness about breast cancer.

The students created posters that they hung around campus, and during Fall Parents Weekend they set up a booth to talk to parents and students about the importance of early detection to increase the likelihood of full recovery from breast cancer. In addition to handing out pink masks, they provided information on how to conduct self-checks, recognize early signs, and other useful resources.

The committee also succeeded in raising 1,552 JD for the Jordan Breast Cancer Program by selling pins, t-shirts, pillow and mugs from the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Hope Shop.
