Students impress with Shakespeare monologues

The third annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition was a resounding success with outstanding performances by theater students in the Page to Stage and Scene Study classes. Students selected an impressive range of pieces and characters to perform on stage, where they demonstrated their powerful wielding of language, clever manipulation of rhetoric, and energetic art of oration.

Congratulations to the winners: 1st Place - Saja Aggad ’24 (Desdemona, Othello), 2nd Place - Rand Tadros ’24 (Cordelia, King Lear), and 3rd Place - Tala Hammad ’23 (Phebe, As You Like It) and Caleb Jackman ’24 (Mark Antony, Julius Caesar).

Well done to all the performers, and particularly to Liliana Abuzied ’23 (Juliet, Romeo and Juliet), Minseo Kim ’24 (Portia, Julius Caesar), Razan Alali ’25 (Helena, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Jenin Abdelhadi ’26 (Ariel, The Tempest) who received honorable mentions.
