With students nationwide returning to in-person learning this month, King’s student Sara Shibli ’23 led a community service initiative to distribute masks to public school students. Shibli contacted institutions to ask for donations of masks and succeeded in collecting 1,750 single-use masks and 1,054 reusable masks. Donating institutions included the Ministry of Health, the Central Bank of Jordan, the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Public Security Directorate, the Medical City Hospital, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Potash Company and the King Hussein Cancer Center. The masks were distributed in cooperation with the King’s Round Square community service office this week to three public schools in Madaba: Al Areesh Elementary School, Al Mamounia Al Gharbiya School and Al Fayhaa Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls.
