King’s hosts Third Annual Career Fair

The King’s Academy Advancement Office in collaboration with the Parent Council organized the school’s third annual career fair this week. Some 25 representatives of different industries and careers participated in the event which took the form of discussion panels under a wide range of themes and professions.

The Career Fair gave Upper School students an invaluable opportunity to get an up-close and personal view of a diverse selection of professions, as they begin to consider what their own career paths might look like when they apply to universities and plan their futures. Meanwhile, for those still undecided, the speakers provided useful information and served as inspiration for possible future career paths.

King’s Parent Council members took the lead in inviting professionals to speak at the event, which included a number of King’s parents. The experts shared with students details about their jobs and fields of work, what they need to study to qualify for those fields, what a routine day looks like, how to pursue a business idea and see it through to success, and much more.

There was a particularly exciting line-up of professionals participating at the Career Fair and representing diverse industries this year. Among them were HRH Princess Rym Ali who spoke to students about media and journalism; HRH Princess Nejla bint Asem on creative professions such as jewelry design; Ireland’s Ambassador to Jordan HE Dr. Vincent O'Neill on diplomacy and international affairs; former minister and entrepreneur HE Marwan Juma on technology; cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Khaled Salaymeh on careers in medicine; HE Dr. Ibrahim Aljazy on international law and political sciences and Fida Taher on entrepreneurship. In addition, many more highly esteemed professionals shared their knowledge on a wide range of industries.

Professionals and students alike enjoyed the lively discussions, questions and presentations at the event. King’s Academy extends its thanks to the Parent Council and all the professionals for their time, support and enthusiasm at what proved to be a highly informative and successful event.
