King’s Academy recently announced the appointment of MacGregor Robinson as the school’s next dean of admissions and financial aid. A graduate of Brooks School in Massachusetts, and of Princeton and Brown universities, Robinson comes to King’s from Trinity-Pawling School in New York, where he has served as the director of admission and financial aid since 1999, and where he was appointed assistant headmaster for external affairs the following year.

“I’m delighted to welcome a colleague of Greg’s stature and experience at King’s,” said Headmaster John Austin. “He’s had a remarkable career at one of America’s leading boys’ boarding schools and he brings with him great spirit and energy to King’s.”

For his part, Robinson said that he was very excited to take up his new position at King’s, adding that “the school has fascinated me since its founding due to its unique setting and mission.”

Robinson takes over from Joe Silvestri, who for the past six years has served as director of admissions, in addition to his more recent role as deputy headmaster for summer programs. Silvestri is returning to the United States, where he will take on the post of director of admissions and financial assistance at Blake School in Minneapolis, Minnesota – one of the country’s leading private, independent schools.

“Joe and his team initiated and expanded our summer programs, professionalized and deepened our approach to need-based financial aid, and led a significant growth in the size and quality of our student body, dramatically expanding the international diversity at the school,” said Austin. “For all of these efforts, King’s is a stronger and more vibrant school, and I am deeply grateful for Joe’s leadership.”
