King’s Academy and the Jordanian Ministry of Environment, with support from the Environmental Protection Fund, have signed an agreement to launch the “Green Lab” initiative to establish a state-of-the-art Green Lab aimed at eliminating plastic waste on campus and transforming it into valuable new products, marking a significant step toward sustainability and environmental innovation.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Environment, HE Dr. Aiman A. Soleiman, and Head of School, Penny Townsend, reinforcing the school’s commitment to advancing environmental responsibility through education and community engagement, as part of broader efforts to support student-led environmental innovation.

Aligned with King’s Academy’s vision of a zero-waste campus, the Green Lab will serve as an on-campus sustainability hub and hands-on learning space where students build STEM, entrepreneurial, and environmental skills. It will recycle plastic waste into useful products using shredding, compression, and 3D printing, supporting the school’s zero-waste goal and sustainable education model.
