Class of 2030 Steps Up to Upper School

King’s Academy celebrated the Grade 8 Step-Up Night, honoring the Class of 2030 as they marked their transition from Middle School to Upper School alongside families, faculty, and staff.

The evening program featured remarks by Head of School Penny Townsend, advisory speeches reflecting on students’ growth and shared experiences, and the presentation of Guiding Principle Awards, the Middle School Athlete of the Year Award, and certificates of completion.

In her address, Ms. Townsend encouraged students to embrace the independence that comes with Upper School while remaining guided by integrity, responsibility, and kindness. Interim Head of Middle School Maymouna Sakho reflected on the class’s journey, celebrating their growth as leaders and community members and encouraging them to carry forward the curiosity and spirit they built in Middle School.

The evening served as a meaningful celebration of achievement and a proud send-off for the Class of 2030 as they step confidently into the next chapter of their King’s Academy journey.
