Understanding: Arts and Humanities Perspectives
These presentations explore the nature and effects of COVID-19 through the Arts and Humanities disciplines.
Essential Question
What is the role of the performing arts during the Coronavirus pandemic and for posterity?
The goal of our workshop is to ask participants to consider how can we use our skills and talents as performing artists to document, inform, entertain during this historical time, and/or capture this period in history on film.
To Do
- Discuss an example of how one genre (documentary, docudrama, rom-com, political suspense thriller, Netflix series, miniseries, comedy show, major motion picture) has represented past traumatic events on today's scale. How might this genre be adapted to serve our present circumstances? Next, choose a genre and sketch out an outline for your show, such as the film plot or an episode in a series.
