All-Alumni Reunion on King’s Academy Campus
An All-Alumni Affair
February 2021
For the first time in the history of King’s Academy, we hosted an all-alumni reunion on campus! All alumni, from our first graduating class of 2010 to the latest at the time (2021) were invited to attend a variety of events across four days in May. With almost 250 alumni attending throughout the weekend, the kick-off gala dinner at the Tawfiq Fakhouri Courtyard was definitely the biggest event of the weekend, full of nostalgia, friendships old and new, and heartfelt words. With over 200 alumni attending this dinner alone, we also had the pleasure of welcoming back beloved founding Head of School Dr. Eric Widmer and his wife, former Dean of the Faculty Dr. Meera Viswanathan.
Other events throughout the weekend included a traditional school meeting in the Abdul Majeed Shoman Auditorium, sit-down lunch in the Hess Family Dining Hall, a panel discussion on the future of King’s Academy, and a special dinner at the St. Regis Hotel for classes celebrating their five and ten-year reunions (2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017).
Reuniting Around the World
This year was especially exciting as we were able to resume alumni reunions around the world. Hosting reunions across different cities has always been critical to ensuring our alumni stay connected not just to each other, but also to the school. These reunions have helped alumni meet fellow King’s graduates who they may not have attended school with, find mentors and potential work opportunities, and learn more about the latest updates from campus.
Now that we’ve gotten the ball rolling, we’re excited to continue hosting these gatherings in more cities. Celebrating the Class of 2020
Class of 2020 Picture Day

In December 2021, we had the pleasure of inviting the Class of 2020 back to campus for a Picture Day, leading up to their official Commencement ceremony later in the spring! Due to the pandemic, many alumni from the Class of 2020 were unable to take official graduation pictures in their caps and gowns. This picture day allowed them to return to campus with their families and loved ones to take official pictures and meet with Head of School Peter Nilsson.
Class of 2020 Finally Commence!

Two years later than originally scheduled, we were finally able to host an in-person Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020! King’s welcomed 40 alumni with their families and loved ones on to campus for the ceremony. Hamzah Al-Qudah ’11, fellow alumnus and King’s faculty member, gave a wonderful commencement address. He talked about this strong group of young adults who dared to keep on moving while the world stood still.
