The Role of Schools in Preventing Substance Use Among Children and Adolescents
Featuring Wellness and Substance Use Specialist Gretchen Hagenbuch, this workshop will tackle and provide resources on issues ranging from students not exposed to substance abuse, working with parents of students using substances and the role of peer support. This workshop targets school counselors, middle and high school administrators and principles, psychologists and social workers.
Gretchen Hagenbuch is currently a Wellness Specialist at St. Andrew's school. She has worked in the drug education field for over a decade and has helped schools navigate this complicated topic in over 16 countries. She uses facts, humor and her own personal experience to help students and adults make healthier decisions regarding alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
What: One-day workshop by Wellness and Substance Use Specialist Gretchen Hagenbuch
Where: Administration Building, Meeting Room 1, King’s Academy, Madaba-Manja
When: Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 09:00 to 14:00 (buffet lunch included)
Who: Workshop is open to school counselors, middle and high school administrators and principles, psychologists and social workers
Cost: Free of charge
Transportation: Transportation by bus will be provided. Pick-up point and time: Greater Amman Restaurant, 7th Circle at 08:00
