The King’s Academy Middle School Merit Scholarship awards merit-based scholarships ranging from 3,500 JD (US $4,936) to 6,000 JD (US $8,462) to selected outstanding Grade 7 and Grade 8 applicants. Merit award recipients who move from the King’s Middle School to King’s Upper School will have their scholarships adjusted to become twice as much to correspond with Upper School tuition fees. Once a Middle School merit student moves to Grade 9, the award will double.
King’s Academy awards a small number of merit scholarships for which all applicants to the school are considered. The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid gives careful consideration to awarding merit scholarships and spends considerable time and effort in determining how best to award these scholarships to a pool of talented students whose number is greater than the available funds can support.
Families applying for need-based financial aid are considered for merit scholarships, but will only be awarded one of the two grants. They are not able to combine merit scholarships with need-based financial aid awards, so families of students selected as merit scholars must fund the remaining balance of tuition personally.
