After creating an online account, applicants may then submit the Online Admissions Application Form, view detailed instructions and their application progress, and check admission status.

Note: Families may use one account for multiple siblings’ applications. Follow the link for more instructions on creating your account and for technical assistance, or else scroll down to the step-by-step video.

2. Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)

Applicants must sit for the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT), which includes English (reading comprehension, language use and writing) and math. The SSAT will be administered on the King’s Academy campus. All applicants should register to sit for the test early in the application process. Preregistration is required three weeks before the session through the Online Admissions Application Form or by emailing: admissions@kingsacademy.edu.jo

Applicants from Jordan will receive an invitation to sit for one of the following sessions:

Saturday, October 13, 2018
Saturday, November 10, 2018
Sunday, November 11, 2018
Saturday, December 8, 2018

Applicants should bring the following items to the SSAT:

  • Photo ID (Passport/national ID/birth certification and a photo)

Candidates will not be permitted to attend the testing sessions without these items.

Please note that we are a closed testing center and can only register test-takers through our Office of Admissions or through our online application form.

Test exemptions may be made for those students who have previously taken similar tests, such as the PSAT, SAT, ACT or various US state standardized tests at their current schools.

3. Copies of required documents

Applicants must provide copies of their passport, birth certificate and family book (for Jordanian citizens) in addition to the most recent grades or progress reports from the current school year and end-of-year reports from the two previous academic years.

4. Recommendation forms

Applicants should ensure that their recommenders are allowed enough time to complete their letters of recommendation and that they are aware of the application deadline date. Letters of recommendation must be submitted in envelopes sealed by the teacher. An application will not be reviewed until all the following forms have been received:

  • Principal or counselor recommendation from
  • Math teacher recommendation form
  • English teacher recommendation form
  • Arabic teacher recommendation form (if the applicant currently takes Arabic language)

The recommendation forms can be downloaded from the Online Admissions Application account.

5. Personal Interview

The admissions interview is a required part of the application process. Interviews are a great way for us to gain a better understanding of who our applicants are, their interest in King’s Academy, and what unique characteristics they will bring to the school. The interview also helps applicants, their parents and the Admissions Committee mutually decide whether or not King’s Academy is the right fit for each applicant’s personality and interests.

6. Application Fee

In addition to the Secondary School Admissions Test fee (US $134/95 JD), there is also an application fee of US $70/50 JD. This amount is payable online or in person at King's Academy in either Jordanian Dinars (cash or check) or other currencies in cash. Please note that foreign currency checks are not accepted. Applicants from government schools in Jordan are exempt from paying these fees.

Any questions regarding the process should be directed to admissions@kingsacademy.edu.jo.

Admissions Criteria

King's Academy enrolls students who not only excel academically but who also demonstrate strong values, a desire to lead, maturity, adaptability, curiosity and creativity. As part of the admissions process, King's also considers a student's interest outside of class, including athletics, the arts, hobbies and other activities.

English is the primary language of instruction and all applicants must demonstrate the potential of a grade-appropriate level of English language proficiency.

King's Academy admits students in grades 7 through 12 but the numbers admitted into grades 11 and 12 are relatively small.

King's Academy Non-Discrimination Policy

King's Academy will admit students of any race, color, religion, creed and national origin as well as qualified disabled students to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Academy. The Academy does not discriminate on the basis of any of the above in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship or any other programs administered by the Academy.

Families need to complete this early decision intention form and return it to the Office of Admissions to be considered.
