Sonja Bhan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Asian and Middle Eastern studies from Barnard College and her Master’s degree in international educational development from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Bhan spent seven years training admissions officers at universities across the United States and Canada to effectively recruit and assess international applicants.
She has also worked in admissions offices at Barnard and UPenn, and was the director of international programs at UPenn’s Graduate School of Education, where she developed programming for students and instructors from China, Egypt, India, Japan and South Korea.
Prior to joining King’s Academy in 2014, Ms. Bhan was a university counselor in China, where she also trained counsellors at peer schools around the country.
Ms. Bhan has authored chapters in the online and print editions of the NAFSA Guide to Educational Systems Around the World, and has been a presenter at various international education conferences.
