Mona Sami began her professional life while still pursuing her university studies at Cairo University. Ms. Sami taught English language, research and debate classes in the Junior Summer Program of the American University of Cairo (AUC). Upon her graduation, and after gaining her certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults, she started teaching language, literature and cultural studies at Cairo University and AUC. In the meantime, she also obtained her master’s degree in Cultural Politics from Cairo University.
Ms. Sami then moved to the corporate sector where she gained experience in the field of human resource management in hospitality, while also obtaining a graduate diploma from the Institut De Management Hotelier International (IMHI). Moving into the industrial sector, Ms. Sami consulted for various organizations including NGOs, banks, retailers, architects and interior designers, marketers, technology and telecommunication companies, performing arts, as well as for government and private sector initiatives.
Since joining King's Academy as Director of Human Resources in 2010, Ms. Sami has relied on her extensive experience in the fields of organizational development and change, performance management, process renovation, policy designing, manpower and talent development, payroll budgeting and monitoring, competency-based recruitment, as well as psychometric assessment and human resources strategic planning. She is responsible for King’s recruitment and orientation, and leads the school’s strategic initiatives related to manpower planning, organizational effectives, compensation and benefits, as well as staff performance and professional development. In 2013, Ms. Sami became Director of Human Resources and General Administration.
