Toronto native Michael Kowalenko graduated from New England College in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. After graduation, he began his teaching career at the Tilton School in New Hampshire, where he helped bring three New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Division II ice hockey championships.
Mr. Kowalenko returned to Toronto to obtain a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University with a specialty in junior-intermediate science and senior biology. He has taught at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts since 2009, where he has also coached varsity ice hockey, lacrosse and soccer.
In 2016, Mr. Kowalenko joined King’s Academy as a faculty member in the Department of Physical and Life Sciences, and the following year also became a house head.
