Connecticut native Julia Smith earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Davidson College in 2007. During her college career, she spent a year in Granada, Spain. Upon graduation, she began teaching at The Hotchkiss School, which gave her the opportunity to return to Spain to spend a summer studying at Menéndez Pelayo International University in Santander.
Ms. Smith moved to St. Andrew’s School in 2009, where she taught until 2016. After her first year at St. Andrew’s, she attended the Columbia Teacher’s College Summer Institute as a Klingenstein fellow. In 2012, she returned to Spain to spend the academic year in Madrid in order to complete her Master’s degree at Middlebury College.
Ms. Smith joined King’s Academy in 2016 as a Spanish teacher in the Department of World Languages.
