James Magagna hails from Pennsylvania, where he grew up after a brief stint in Jakarta as the son of an international school headmaster. He then experienced the boarding school environment first-hand as a student at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
Mr. Magagna went on to graduate from Princeton University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in comparative literature. Since 2005, he has been a summer counselor and business manager at Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota, where he taught language and filmmaking.
In 2013, Mr. Magagna joined King’s Academy as an English teaching fellow in the Department of Communication, Rhetoric and the Literary Arts (CRLA). He became a faculty member in that department the following year.
