A boarding school student herself (St. Georges School in Switzerland), Hala Yaish-Salah has been through various secondary and tertiary school systems in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. While majoring in English literature at the University of Jordan, she also worked part-time at JTV. Ms. Yaish-Salah went on to work at AMIDEAST as a university advisor and a Fulbright coordinator. She conducted outreach programs, held pre-departure sessions and advised students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
After five years at AMIDEAST, Ms. Yaish-Salah began working at the Modern Montessori School where she held posts as English teacher, English language coordinator (grades 1- 5), English curriculum development committee member and university advisor of the school’s first graduating class. Her last seven years were spent at the Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS), where she worked primarily as a university advisor, but also taught ethics, theory of knowledge and was the year coordinator in the IB Diploma College. She also served on the school’s Governance Committee and on the Reaccreditation Committee for Student Support.
Ms. Yaish-Salah has participated in numerous workshops on marketing, the Fulbright Scholarship program, the Overseas Educational Advisor’s Training Program (sponsored by USIA/College Board), Theory of Knowledge and IB English. She also attended both NAFSA and ECIS conferences on education, admissions, guidance and international advising.
