Alexander Coyle attended Northfield Mount Hermon School before he spent a year abroad in Scotland at the University of St. Andrew’s. He then returned stateside to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Wooster and a Master’s degree in American history from Western Carolina University. He also attended the Kingenstein Summer Institute in 1999.
Over the last two decades Mr. Coyle has taught history at Cherokee High School in New Jersey, Southwestern Community College in North Carolina, and at boarding schools in Maine, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In addition to teaching, he has coached American football, crew, alpine skiing and tennis. He has also served as a dorm parent and dorm head, and taken on several administrative roles throughout his career.
Mr. Coyle joined King’s Academy in 2016 as a faculty member in the Department of History and Social Sciences, and in 2017 was named head of that department.
