Valeria Mugarra brings a distinctive blend of international education and development experience shaped by her work across Africa, Latin America, and Europe. Most recently, she taught Spanish at Windhoek International School in Namibia, delivering International Baccalaureate curriculum, while also serving as a Project Officer with Caritas Namibia. From 2022-2024, Ms. Mugarra was Horn of Africa Regional Representative for Caritas Española, overseeing multi-country project portfolios in education, migration, and rural development. Her earlier role with the Spanish Cooperation Agency in Ethiopia (2021–2022) involved managing sectoral projects and contributing to EU delegation working groups, while her work with the NGO Entreculturas supported the Fe y Alegría Federation on education, migration, and youth development initiatives in Latin America. With a degree in psychology, Ms. Hernandezbegan her career in Ethiopia (2017–2019), where she counseled vulnerable minors.

In 2025, Ms. Mugarra joined King’s Academy as a teaching fellow in the Department of World Languages, in addition to serving as the house head of Sulafat. Sher currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of World Languages.
