Joanna Levison-Aliyev

Joanna Levison-Aliyev has over 15 years of experience in university admissions counseling, strategic communications, and advocacy. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and Swarthmore College and certifications from the Times Higher Education Counsellor Accreditation Programme and UC Irvine. In her previous role as Founder and Lead Consultant of University Bound, she specialized in guiding international students through UK, European, and US university admissions processes. As a certified UCLA admissions reader, Ms. Levison brings firsthand insight into selective university processes. Ms. Levison’s consulting work was strengthened by her earlier leadership roles at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and the US Department of State, where she built a strong foundation in cross-cultural communication, public diplomacy, and policy analysis. Fluent in English, Russian, French and Czech, and a dual resident of the US and Czech Republic, she is uniquely equipped to support diverse international students in navigating complex global admissions landscapes.
In 2025, Ms. Levison joined King’s Academy as the dean of University Counseling.
