Biography:

James Meyer earned a Bachelor's degree in history and government from Skidmore College, and a Master’s degree in education from Boston University. After a short stint at a law firm, he began working as a teacher, coach and residential staff member at the Fessenden School in Massachusetts. Over the years he has worked at various independent schools across the United States and internationally.

A tireless student advocate devoted to improving student learning outcomes, Mr. Meyer is experienced at developing coherent and rigorous curricula that prepare students for a future as global citizens. In addition to working as a division head at several schools, he was the head of the North American International School in Pretoria, South Africa. For the last 10 years, he has used his educational and leadership experience to guide programmatic and instructional improvements at schools in Hawaii, Utah, Nevada, the European Union, and Japan.

Mr. Meyer joined King’s Academy in 2023 as director of special projects and strategic initiatives. In 2024, he was named director of teaching and learning. He currently serves as dean of faculty.
