Yasmin Abbas
Yasmin Abbas received a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and literature from the University of Jordan. She was awarded a scholarship to complete her Master’s in Arabic at the same university, where she produced a thesis entitled “Femininity as a Discourse: A Linguistic Study of the Writings of Arab Women.”
While at university, Ms. Abbas volunteered as a teacher of Arabic to non-native students, and also assisted blind students by reading and proofreading their university theses. She worked as a teaching assistant for one year at the University of Jordan, followed by three years teaching secondary school students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) system at the Ahliyyah & Mutran School. She has also written three books about ancient Arabic poetry in cooperation with the Arabic Language Center in Abu Dhabi.
Ms. Abbas joined King’s Academy in 2022 as a faculty member teaching Arabic in the Department of Communication, Rhetoric and the Literary Arts.
